So I entered in the 2018 Bass Pro Shops Big Bass Tour on Lake Conroe for one day to try my luck. Me and my 11 year old are going to give it a shot. Since my boat is located off of 105 it will be pretty easy to fish the south part of the lake and make quick runs to Papa’s on the Lake when we catch bass.
To prepare, I put together a map with fishing spots that I plan on using on tournament day. This map consists of where I’ve caught fish, places that look like good spots, and places that the pros fished when on Lake Conroe. I watched a recorded version of 2017 Bassmaster Classic and noted where the pros were on the south part of the lake near my boat ramp.
I also purchased a new Lowrance Elite 5 ti to help locate fish and underwater structures such as rocks, brush, logs and different lake bottoms. I plan on moving my Hook 7 up to the bow but I’m not sure if I have enough time to make that change.

Here’s the boat I want to win. The largest bass caught over the 3 day tournament will win. As of day 1 it looks like I’ll need a 12+ pounder.
